This is a throwaway podcast about an animated television series that I felt a strong emotional connection to. They said “a subject of your choice”, and my choice was Mob Psycho 100. Enjoy my gushing.
Like half of the teaching population, I’m sure, I got to experience the joy of Audacity when the pandemic started and I needed to produce my own audio recordings of all my assignments for students with learning disabilities. I had fun remembering how to adjust levels and delete the awkward pauses and moments when I swore because I messed up. The final product is hurt by the quality of my laptop’s built in microphone – if Audacity has the ability to hide or clean up the fuzzy quality, I wasn’t able to find it. To get good results, I guess you really do need to splurge on some better equipment (but I digress, that is a topic for the next entry).
I haven’t figured out all the features yet – I figured out the ones I needed as I went, like adjusting track volume to even the music and voice volume. I feel like there are a lot of features packed in here and most of them are not relevant to the simple productions I’m likely to be doing in school settings. Do I need to know how to master the “wahwah” effect? Probably not. I am at peace with this for the time being.
