A few questions that came to mind while reading about the legal issues surrounding the sharing of student work.
- How does my home district monitor and enforce compliance with FOIPPA and sharing of student work?
- Given that most version control companies are based out of the United States (e.g., Github, Bitbucket), what options exist for FOIPPA-compliant software version control in secondary computer programming classes? Obviously installing a server on district-owned computers is one option, but an option that requires buy-in and potentially new knowledge from the district IT department.
- What legal rights do children/young adults have protecting them from parents sharing their information without consent?
